**NOTE:  Some listings have included Douglas Ambrose as being buried in this cemetery, this information is incorrect.  Douglas Ambrose was a former slave who lived in Hernando County and after the Civil War he worked at the Lewis Turpentine Plantation as a guide.  Douglas P. Ambrose was buried in the Spring Hill African American Cemetery located across the street.**
