Holy Name Academy, Illustration from Supt. Int. of Public Inst. Report from 1894-96
Holy Name Academy, San Antonio.  In ca. 1889 this building served at the Sultenfuss Hotel located at the north end of the San Antonio town square until a group of Benedictine sisters arrived to manage St. Anthony's School and found a private girl's school and convent naming it Holy Name and locating to the former hotel.  In 1911, by an elaborate system of ox-powered pulleys and winches, the building was moved to the hilltop where Holy Name Monastery now stands.

This illustration of the Holy Name Academy appeared in a report, for the years of 1894-96, filed by the Superentendant of Pulich Instruction.
