J.A. Barthle General Store, 1925.  This beautiful two-story building, which was situated on Main Street in San Antonio, housed J.A. Barthle's General Store.  Joseph A. Barthle was son to Charles Barthle, owner of the St. Charles Hotel in San Antonio.  Barthle's General Store served many early needs of the residents of San Antonio, it is said that the entire second floor served funeral needs and had caskets on display.  (Photo courtesy of Jack and Diane Jones, from the Ruth Jones Collection)
